Let that moon hit your eye this Friday at ARTafterDARK—and try to bring a date. This month’s theme is “Moon Over Honolulu,” which promises cook up some old fashioned Honolulu romance, slightly dimmed at a cool 98.6° F.

ARTafterDARK is the Honolulu Academy of Arts’ monthly art party organized by a dynamic group of young volunteers dedicated to exploring the arts.

The festivities begin with an oli by Kumu Lauae at the Academy’s entrance at 6:00 p.m., who will also perform with Halau Na Maka O Ka Lauae in the central courtyard. Guy Cruz takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. DJ Zachariajah will also be on hand the entire night in Luce Pavilion to spin dub and electronica for couples, and singles, looking to shake their moons.

Noe Lopes will be on the Central Court lawn from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. leading a lei-making demo.
